How could you find out if sound does travel faster in metals than in other solids?

Sound travels faster through elastic solids like nickel or iron than through solids like lead, which is less elastic. ... If a material is denser because its molecules are larger, it will transmit sound slower.

we can find this through an experiment..

take a metal like steel,iron,etc...throw it on marble floor...

u will listen the sound

now take a wooden piece and throw it on the same marble floor...u will listen the less sound...

by this we can say that sound travels faster in metals than in other solids...
