The perimeter of a rectangle is 240cm. If length is increased by 10% and its breadth is decreased by 20% we get the same perimeter. Find the length and breadth of the rectangle.

Let lenght be xbreadth be y new original perimeter =2(x+y)=240 or x+y=120

new perimeter2(x+x/10)+2(y-2y/10)

On solving we get.. 11x+8y=1200

.... On solving 1 and 2 we get..eq2 minus eq 1.... 3x=240.....x=80

Put in 1.

Y=40... Length is 80 breadth is 40 cm
