Socialisation instills in a person the cultural standards and values that guide our daily activities.

  • Culture and society involve two distinct entities. Culture resembles a heap on a rug, with differentiating colours, surfaces, lengths, and components, while society resembles twist and weft strings keeping the floor covering together.
  • Understanding the societal minimum criteria explains why one should do or believe in something. Culture does not provide a basis for engaging with people not sharing a culture's history and values.
  • Culture instills values in next-generation and society's young people are socialized in a unique way. However, socialisation, is basically the same regardless of culture, but its essence is influenced by cultural and traditional factors.
  • Social behaviour is essentially unaffected by our society and beliefs. In all Western cultures, socialization is achieved by a combination of family, friends, media, religion, and society.
