the mughal emperors appointed the company as the diwan(minister)of the provinces of Bengal, this solveda major problem that the company was facing ..in the early eighteenth century the company imported gold and silver from Britain, this was because there was no other goods to sell in India. When the ruler of Bengal died his son sirajuddalaulah come to throne. He refused to the selling of goods in India.Sirajuddaulah marched to the company for with 30,000 soldiers and locked the company fort and captured the officials the rest of the company was in some other place came to know about this and with his soldiers marched to sirajjuddaulah and defeated him ,this was because his army commander mir jafar stood on the company side as they told him that they would make him the nawab(king) of Bengal. After the battle, they made mir jafar as their nawab but when he refused they displaced him and made mir qasim as the nawab of Bengal but when he also refused they displaced him and the British thought that they itself should become the nawab ,then they battled with territories and became the real master of Bengal.
