Arachne tried to fight her fear by taking on of the most powerful goddesses. She faced Athena, as she challenged her.

She was courageous and didn't feel threatened by Athena even though she was very well aware with the fact that Athena possessed magical powers of craft.

She carried out the conditions of her challenge by portraying bravery, courage and self-assurance. She believed in herself and thought that she could take over a goddess and all humans could do so.
