  1. The britishers levied heavy taxes on Indian artisans and farmers which they were unable to pay.
  2. They forced Indian artisans and traders to sell their products 20%- 40% below the market price. So,they were always in loss.
  3. The goods manufactured in England was exempted from custom duty.
