Answer:

He stopped his practice and went towards the place where the dog was barking. Before the dog could shut up or get out of the way, Eklavya fired seven arrows in rapid succession to fill the dog's mouth without injuring it. As a result it roamed the forests with its mouth opened.

Answer:

Eklayva made the dog stop barking by shooting a series of seven arrows in quick succession in the dog's mouth, whilst it was open. This proved that he was an excellent archer. Dronacharya, the guru of the Kauravas and Pandavas, feared that Eklavya, who was a Nishida (tribal) prince, could one day surpass Arjuna (Drona's favourite pupil) and hence asked for Eklavya's right thumb as "guru dakshina". Eklavya could never practise archery ever since and Arjuna remained unequalled.
