How did Gandhiji try to restore communal harmony amongst the masses of India?

Gandhiji tried to bring communal harmony as he was of opinion that two nation theory adopted by M.A. Jinnah should not be followed because it will create India and Pakistan from Undivided India.

He said that if you want partition then you have to do partition on my dead body.

When he witness the riots in Bengal he was of view that India’s unity will prevail in the country very soon.
