Margaret T.Canby was the author of "The Frost Fairies." Hellen wrote a story "The Frost King" when she was twelve years of age. She sent it to Mr. Anagnos on his birthday. Mr.Anagnos, on the other hand, decided to publish the story. It came to the highlight that the story "The Frost King" was very similar to the story "The Frost Fairies." It is because of this reason Hellen was accused of plagiarism.

Hellen wrote the story as per the description which was given by Miss Sullivan. When she was accused of plagiarism, she was very shocked and embarrass for this. A teacher at Perkins interrogated Hellen about the story. She accused her of accepting her deed of intentionally plaguing. This was told to Mr.Anagnos by the teacher which created a gap in their friendship. Helen left very bad and devastated.
