Because the average person in Germany at that time was hungry and needed work and beginning to be in bad shape (I think similar to our Depression time), so anything that gave them hope (and Hitler was a convincing speaker), was something to consider as their leader. So economics is one major reason. Then he filled them with anger and hate, directed at the Jews, Gypsies, etc. etc. and who knows what else!!!

at that time , Germany became very weak. Hitler took advantage of the situation and he promised people to make Germany as strong , powerful amd dangerous as before. so people started supporting Hitler to achieve Germany's lost fame
