Answer:
India's caste system is a highly stratified social system in which there is no mobility between classes. That is, individuals in the caste system cannot move between classes. In contrast to this social system, many countries, like the United States, enable class mobility—at least in theory. In other words, in the United States, one's economic class is subject to mobility: one can be born in a low-economic class, but enter a high-economic class in his or her adulthood through various factors like employment. In sum, the major difference between India's caste system and other modern class systems is the inability/ability to move freely between classes.
