After few hundred million years the temperature of earth reached 2,000C-the melting point of iron and earth's core was formed . At this point much of the earth was molten and there may have been a magma ocean at the surfaca. Gradually the earth cooled and the planet settled out into a core, mantle and crust.

Answer:
Iron is the most abundant element in the Earth. The Earth's core is mostly made up of an iron-nickel alloy. ... Because iron oxidizes when it comes into contact with air, most of the iron that is found on the surface of the Earth is in iron oxide minerals such as hematite and magnetite.
