After feeling very weak while in prison, she died from a severe heart attack on February 22, 1944. Kasturba fell ill with bronchitis which was subsequently complicated by Pneumonia.

Kasturba Gandhi suffered from chronic brochitis due to complications at birth. her brochitis was complicated by pneumonia. Kasturba's health later deteriorated in January 1908 as she fasted while Gandhi in prison, become ill. Kasturba came so close to death that Gandhi apologize to her and promised he would not remarried again if she dies and kasturba died
