The movement was supported to gain a mass involvement and to strengthen Hindu- Muslim Unity as far as what is given in books but the real motive is still unknown.Since they were trying to portray to the masses about their support for Muslims and giving them equal importance like the Hindus in order to gain larger empathy and popularity among the people. So that they can easily rule the people without any deterrent.
