Young Maria Sharapova (born 1987) achieved success through hard sheer hard work and perseverance.  

She started tennis at the age of six and since then there has been no looking back. As a child, she attended a tennis clinic conducted by tennis great Martina Navratilova and later on, moved to the United States with her father. Initially they survived on the money earned by her father, doing odd jobs and making just enough money to join the sports and talent management company, the International Management Group (IMG).
