In Mendel's dihybrid cross he crossed pea plants having two contrasting characters like round yellow seed (RRYY) and wrinkled green seed(rryy).he obtained F1 progeny by cross pollination . The F1 was all with round yellow seed (RrYy) . When he obtained F2 progeny by self pollination beside round yellow seed and green wrinkled seed two new combination were seen that is round green seed and wrinkled yellow. This shows that R and Y are independently inherited
