On Death of Aurangzeb, his 3 sons fought themselves for the throne. but the 65 years old Bahadur Shah emerged victoriously and became king. He was an able, efficient and secular ruler. He implemented many policies just to safeguard interests of Hindus and completely ban on destruction of Hindu temples in his reign.

He died in the year 1712 A.D., due to this whole Mughal empire face civil war among high post Army personnel. Under this war, Jahandar Shah won who was weak and womanizer type ruler. he completely lacked good manner and decency. At that time, Zulfikar Khan is the most powerful Man after Jahandar Shah. He abolished Jizyah and start making good relationships with Hindu rulers. but Zulfikar is completely against Sikhs and their revolt, so he continued his suppression towards them.

Main Reasons for the decline of the Mughal Empire :

1: Aurangzeb's desire to bring the whole of India into a central government which was a very difficult and impossible task. this leads to complete mismanagement and unfruitful after Aurangzeb's death.

2: Suppression of Maratha and Rajput Sardars, Instead of making cordial and good relations with Maratha's, Mughal Ruler suppress them ruthlessly. This makes Hindu majority population against Aurangjeb.

3: Aurangjeb religious orthodoxy and his ardent policy towards Hindus by imposing jizyah and forced conversion of Hindus ladies to make the situation more serious.

4: Another reason is that growing selfishness and disloyalty for the Mughal empire by doing corruption and capturing lands. This directly impacts on revenue collection and the money for maintaining troops and shahi khazana becomes void.

5: Final blow to the Mughal empire was given by a series of foreign invasions. Attack by nadir shad, Ahmad Shah Abdali create the consequences of the weakness of the empire.
