John describe the house of Miss Allyn as a huge house as big as a capital at Washington.Although, it may have had many rooms, there was hardly any furniture inside expect some old horsehair lounges and some broken chairs, with a few framed pictures of ancestors on the walls.Thus, it appears that the house had seen better days.
