the Postmaster including the staff treated Ali in a very ill and dehumanized manner as Ali daily used to come to the post office to enquire if the letter from Miriam has come or not but they used to make fun of him many of them make practical jokes on him and sometimes announce his name as a prank moreover the postmaster also call him a pest
