Srinivasa Ramanujan died aged 32 in Madras on April 26, 1920. His death was most likely caused by hepatic amoebiasis caused by liver parasites common in Madras. His body was cremated. Sadly, some of Ramanujan's Brahmin relatives refused to attend his funeral because he had traveled overseas.
