In 1980, he became Zimbabwe’s first
black Prime Minister.

His rule has been overshadowed by torture
and murder allegations, especially those of his political opponents. Most of
the so-called elections held during his period are said to have been rigged and
political opponents intimidated.

By the end of 2017, the army in a bid to
bring back democracy, placed him and his wife under house arrest.

Robert Mugabe became the president of Zimbabwe after winning the elections with a great majority of votes.

The public their considered him the best leader and that he would change the future of the country. Recently we have seen Mugabe openly defying court orders and doing thing just to stick to power.
