Telgu poet Tenali Ramakrishnan or Tenali Rama was one of the Ashtadiggajas (eight veteran poets) in the court of Vijaynagar emperor Krishnadevaraya. After the death of Krishnadevaraya, Tenali Rama too died from a snake bite.

Tenali Ramakrishna was a scholar,  Special Adviser, poet and a  thinker in the court of Sri Krishnadevaraya. He was a prominent poet in the Telugu language, however, he had mastery over other languages as well such as Marathi, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malyalam. He was one of the eight gems in the court of Krishnadevaraya. Following the death of the Krishnadevaraya the emperor of Vijayanagar, he went back to Tenali and died there after a few years later from a snakebite.
