how did the air raids disrupt the Dutch public life?

Air raids were a costant source of tension for the Dutch people. Often, they'd have to stop what they were doing multiple times per day to respond to the attacks and keep themselves safe. For the Franks, as well as the others in the annex, the air raids were much the same..... the biggest difference was that they could not escape their surroundings. They simply had to sit and wait in fear.
