The author go about for packing because he thinks himself as more brilliant in packing things. His actual intension was to sit for packing and order things from Harris and George.

But he got wrong. He was not systematic and even he was proved wrong. His frnds also created a mess around him which too disturbed him.

First Jerome had a dangerous idea that if he had packed his boots or not. So he has to reopen the packed bag and go for searching the boots.

Second time, again a dangerous idea tucked in his mind that he had packed his toothbrush or not. So again he had to reopen the packed bag. And finally he found his toothbrush inside the boots.

Third time, he struck with an idea that where are the spectacles ? So he reopened the packed bag third time and again packed it third time.
