Heya friend!!
Rajdeep here....

At that time, Bengal was the root of Nationalism. In Bengal, just as leaders like Bipin Chandra Pal and Surendranath Banerjee criticized the British and their policies by mouth and deeds, people like Rabindranath Tagore and Shree Aurobindo Ghose showed that "Pen is mightier than Sword".

The nationalists said that Lord Curzon had partitioned Bengal to strike at the roots of Bengali Nationalism. However, Lord Curzon did not accept it. He said that Bengal was a huge province and it was too difficult for him to administer Bengal by only one Government. So he had partitioned Bengal.

Thanks!!
