The tribal people or adivasis were controlled by their territories, but under the British rule they lose their administrative power and they were forced to follow the British rules.
Apart from that, tribal chiefs were holding the power and they were control their groups with concentrated finance.
But under the british rule, they lose all the power and they did not even perform their traditional functions under British power.
