Answer:Gandhiji sent a letter to Viceroy Irwin , which stated 11 demands.
The most important demand , which was needed by both rich and poor , was the abolition of salt tax. Irwin refused to react to their demands.
Hence, Gandhiji started the Salt march , accompanied by 78 trusted volunteers, on 6th April , and reached Dandi , and violated the law by manufacturing salt from sea water. This march marked the beginning of civil disobedience movement.
