There was little effective change in the balance of power in the Senate. The Republicans still control the Senate. Depending on how the last two seats resolve, Republicans may have somewhere between an effective two seat or four seat majority in the Senate. they had an effective two seat majority previously. They still select the majority leader and majority house leadership. Pence also presides over the Senate and has a tie breaking vote.
