It made farming an experienced site affair and farmers were not able to buy so expensive seeds machinery etc and hence led to poverty

49 percent of people in india are employed in agriculture the introduction of high yielding varities of seeds after 1956 and increased use of fertilizers and irrigation are known as collectively as the green revolution which provided the increases in production needed to make india self- sufficient in food grains.
