It was a major turning point in the Renaissance, which Akad from 1350-1150.Renaissance means rebirth;it began in Italy and it was the rebirth of ancient Greek and Roman Worlds.Johannes Gutenberg was a German goldsmith and printer he was the first to develop printing press in 1450.This allowed for the mass production of books. His invention of the printing press is still considered the most important invention in history because before the printing press monks copied letters and books and it took months and years for some materials to be published. This means not many books were available to the public, therefore knowledge was limited to those who could afford for a book to be hand copied. It also means everyone was going to the Catholic Church for answers. However after everyone could read their own Bible they realized the Catholic Church was wrong about pretty much everything and they turn to science. Now,common people could buy books and educate themselves rather than rich people only having education.Without the printing press we wouldn't be where we are today. The printing press changed the world forever.
