Industrialisation has certain merits and demerits as well. The age of industrialisation took place in colonial rule. As new forms of technology were being used. Weavers of India were hit by a huge problem that was, the clothes manufactured by textile industries was pretty better then that of Indian handwoven clothes.
ALSO, the regular customers who preferred to wear the handwoven clothes turned their choices toward machine manufactured clothes.
Therefore many Indian weavers left their profession and move towards labour.
