The narrator was so excited to spend the nights camping out and enjoy being in the open. He longed to be wild and free like the ancient ancestors, who lived on the carpet of grass under the canopy of sky. George seconded the narrator. However, Harris had a reasonable objection to spending night camping out. Harris brought their attention to the fact that it would be very inconvenient to sleep in a camp when it rained. Their entire romance of vacation will be ruined.
After careful deliberation, it was decided that they would sleep out on fine nights; and on rainy nights they would it either sleep in a hotel, or or an inn, or at a pub according to the requirement and circumstances.
