The policy of containment had failed militarily. Despite the USA’s vast military strength it could not stop the spread of communism. It is clear that American foreign policy with its' banner of containment was a miserable failure.

• The Vietnam War of the 20th century appears to be the worst. For the second time in a decade in order to avoid the growth of communism, the US Government has deployed troops to an Asian country. In this situation, their containment programme was a spectacular catastrophe, stopping the proliferation of communism. The Constitution of Cuba came under the revolutionary regime of Fidel Castro in 1959. The communism was founded just 100 km outside the USA by a group of guerrilla fighters. For the sake of foreign judgement, the American democracy engine was not prepared or prepared to stop it.
• In 1955, the U.S.S.R. formed an alliance with Eastern European nations in order to counteract the NATO development. Virtually every corner of Eastern Europe was covered by the Warsaw Pact.
