The policy of containment had failed militarily. Despite the USA’s vast military strength it could not stop the spread of communism. It is clear that American foreign policy with its' banner of containment was a miserable failure.
Explanation:
- The Vietnam War of the 20th century appears to be the worst. For the second time in a decade in order to avoid the growth of communism, the US Government has deployed troops to an Asian country. In this situation, their containment programme was a spectacular catastrophe, stopping the proliferation of communism. Not only have they lost the fight, but public interest has been lost and negative international exposure has been gained.
- In 1950, the Soviets fled North Korea and fled a communist regime. China supported and armed the North Korean government, which occupied South Korea. The UN (of course under U.S. leadership) formed an army to re-establish stability and drive out the aggressors. Yet communism could not be contained
- The propagation of communism to the consternation of the United States has not stopped since the Korean war and the Warsaw Pact. The Constitution of Cuba came under the revolutionary regime of Fidel Castro in 1959. The communism was founded just 100 km outside the USA by a group of guerrilla fighters. For the sake of foreign judgement, the American democracy engine was not prepared or prepared to stop it.
- In 1955, the U.S.S.R. formed an alliance with Eastern European nations in order to counteract the NATO development. Virtually every corner of Eastern Europe was covered by the Warsaw Pact. Russia also governs Poland, Germany, Bulgaria , Romania and a number of other countries. America's idea of a concerted campaign to counter Communism boomed into a single communism expansion.
- America appears to be powerless to fight Communism in nations outside the Soviet bloc to this day. In Vietnam, North Korea , China and Cuba, socialist nations now prevail. It was not only a failure at the height of the Cold War in containment in the US, but is still visible today.
