How did the Postmaster change after he saw Ali's letter

postmaster was completely changed after he saw Ali's letter as on that time he was eagerly waiting for her daughter's letter ......he thought Ali also waited eagerly for her daughter's letter from 5 years ,and that time postmaster laughed on him .....but today when he feel the same pain which once Ali felt ....after that incident postmaster was completely changed.
