The rain was not filled with water drops. Instead it rained hail. Lencho compared it to coins, the big drops as 10 centavo pieces while the small drops as 5 centavo pieces.  

The hail storm ruined the fields, the crops were damaged, the trees were laid bare. Nothing was left of their corns and beans.

For about an hour the hail rained on the house, the garden, the hillside, the cornfield, on the whole valley. The field was white, as if covered with salt.
