a. Tamils organised themselves into various groups ,associations and parties ventilating their grievances against the majoritarian policies of the Sri Lanka government that were discriminatory and favoured the Sinhala population.
b. In 1970's for example Tamil students league was formed.
c. In 1972, with an aim of more autonomy to provinces and to create a separate Tamil Eelam that is Tamil state, Tamil new Tigers was formed.
d. It culminated in the formation of LTTE, that is Liberation tigers of Tamil Eelam in 1976 to wage armed struggle for an independent Tamil state in north and east Sri Lanka.
