The Carnatic Wars refers to an number of different conflicts which occured in 18th Century Indian Sub-continent from the economic, military and diplomatic struggle between the British East India Company and the French East India Company for dominance in the sub-continent.
It was more of a proxy war fought between Britain and France in the Carnatic region of Deccan.
After several wars and the declining French power even in Europe due to the Sever year War, a stalemate occurred in 1761 when the french agreed to take out all military from the region and only retain business and trading outposts
