The "US underestimate the Vietnamese" in the following ways:

• Even though the Vietnamese had limited resources they made the most of it. The US bombed the pathway that was used to send supplies regularly but the Vietnamese used to rebuild it quickly. The US used to do so because the pathway known as the "Ho Chin Minh trail" was one of the major source of  transportation of supplies and army between North and South Vietnam.

•   The US used modern technology and chemical weapons like agent Orange but still suffered great losses as they underestimated the determination and patriotism of the Vietnamese who used simple methods to win their freedom
