How did the war changed the life of two boys in two gentalmen?

War brings nothing but destruction. people become homeless, kids become orphans and many die of hunger and because of the aftermaths of war the people suffer a lot. In the story also, the boys' father died in the war. their house was destroyed and they were rendered homeless. they made a shelter from the rubbles and stayed there for many days. they lived a very cultured and comfortable life but the war totally destroyed their life.they suffered horribly from near starvation and exposure to cold winter. war is always ugly, horrible and evil. everyone hates war because it's another name is destruction.
