How did the weather change in "The rime of the ancient mariner"?

In the beginning of poem the weather was too cold because of ice as it is mentioned that ice was here and ice was there and ice was all around but after the death of albatross there were a lot of heat and sun shine as reddish sky and the mariner felt a lot of difficulty
