World War 1 had completely changed the thoughts of women job roles. Extreme demands of workforce during the WW1 had made the government s to recruit women for the works which are considered as the works of men.
Women were recruited in large numbers to work in ammunition factories. Many governments recruited female candidate to work in ammunition factories through mass campaigns and recruitment drives.
During that period, women started working in trams, railways, chemical factories and explosives but they got lower wages than men.
