zygote is formed as a result of the fusion of male and female gamates.it is diploid that is it contains 2 sets of chromosomes.the zygote multip[lies to form the embryo.

Zygote is formed by the fusion of male and female gametes in the fallopian tubes .
As soon as the matured ovarian follicle is released ..on the 14th day from the release it reaches the ampullar region of the fallopian tubes .
If the sperms are introduced into the female body then one sperm fuses with the ovum in the fallopian tubes .
Then the zygote travels to the uterine cavity and the uterine wall is prepared for receiving the zygote..
The zygote then gets embedded into the uterine wall to develop and get nutrition from the mothers body.
