◼️The cell was discovered by the person named Robert Hooke in 1665 while he was observing the cork of a tree .
◼️He saw the dead cell walls of plant cells actually.
◼️He did it with his self designed crude microscope
◼️He observed small structure which resembled the structure of honeycomb

Cell was first discovered by Botanist Robert Hooke in 1665. He made his own Microscope and observe a lot of honey comb slices in the cork of bark of tree. He named them 'cells'. At that time the term cell meant for 'little empty rooms'. He saw the dead cells with only cell wall ( because in the bark of tree the cells become dead) and named accordingly. He wrote about cells in his famous book 'Micrographia'.
