In low altitudes there is presence of moisture from evaporation of sea water and ocean currents which differentiates it from high altitudes which are characterised by dryness and cold winds which lack moisture. For example, tropical rainforests have more moisture than cold deserts. Therefore, moisture is an important factor in determining the distribution of biomes.
