Explanation: Division of labour is seen in multicellular organisms as each process has particular tissues to carry it out. unlike unicellular organisms where one cell takes care of digestion, ingestion and excretion and other gaseous exchanges, multicellular organisms have many tissues or groups of cells working for different processes . for eg: the digestive system takes care of digesting the food. it does nothing other than breaking up the food to obtain nutrients. this process is known as nutrition.

the excretory system makes sure that no toxins remain in the body and filter the blood.

hence in any multicellular organism and some unicellular organisms division of labour is considered a vital role in its existence.
