Acids will react with reactive metals, such as magnesium and zinc, to make a salt and hydrogen. The hydrogen causes bubbling during the reaction. It can be detected using a lighted splint, which causes the gas to burn with a squeaky pop.

ACID
⚜️⚜️

acids react with metal to form salt and hydrogen gas (H2)

process of reaction
acid + metal ➡️ salt + H2

examples are as follows
2HCL +Zn ➡️ ZnCl 2 + H2

where, HCl is a acid
Zn is metal

they Both react and make

ZnCl ,( salt) and H2 ( hydrogen gas)

BASE

base react with metal to form salt and hydrogen gas

Base + metal ➡️ salt + H2

example :
2NaOH + Zn ➡️Na2+Zno2 + H2

where , 2NaOh is base
Zn is Metal

they Both react and form

Na2 . Zno2 ( salt)

H2 ( hydrogen gas)
