The two pseudopodia in amoeba join around the food particle and trap it in a food vacuole with a little water. The food vacuole contains digestive enzymes which break down the food into nutrients and undigested waste. The nutrients from the food are directly absorbed by the body of the amoeba, the cytoplasm.

The mode of nutrition in amoeba is holozoic and the process of obtaining food by it is called phagocytosis.
1) Minute bacteria are capture by pseudopodia . pseudopodia encircle the prey.
2) Enzyme from cytoplasm are secreted into food vacuole it are the temporary structure.
3)this process of digestion is called intracellular digestion.
4)digested food diffuse in the cytoplasm. And absorbed food used as per requirement in cytoplasm.
