Digestion of Carbohydrates & Fats:-

Starch is digested in the mouth of the Salivary amylase.Other forms of Carbohydrates are digested in Small Intestine .

Digestion of Protein:-

Partial digestion of Protein takes place in the stomach by Gastric enzyme. Further digestion of Protein takes place in small Intestine.

Small intestine is the site of complete digestion of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. It receives secretions from liver and pancreas for this purpose. the food coming from the stomach is acidic and has to be made alkaline for the pancreatic enzymes to act. bile juice from liver accomplishes this in addition to acting on fats. Fats is present in the form of large globules which made it difficult for the enzymes to act on it. bile salts break it into smaller globules increasing the efficiency of crime action. Pancreas secretes pancreatic juice which contain enzyme trypsin for digesting protein and lipase for breaking down emulsified fat.The glands present in the small intestine secrete intestinal juice that finally converts protein into amino acid , carbohydrates into glucose and fats into fatty acids and glycerol
