how do characters in best seller is differ from people in real life
Answers
Most of the characters in the Best Seller remind of idealism and romance the like of which are very rare to find in real life. John A Pescud is a paragon of love, romance, hard work—very few men in real life would have done what he did. Though critical of romantic heroes, he himself was a real hero. The moment he found the lady of his dreams he gave everything to it. He forgot his business engagement and travelled up to Virginia, changing trains at Cincinnati, Shelbyville, and Powhatan, following her in hope of having a word with her. Similarly, he overcame all the obstacles like a real hero.
Miss Allyn the heroine in the story was also quite unlike
the ladies in real life. She was a very
pretty lady who had many virtues such as modesty, alertness, feminine coyness
that made her prettier.
Colonel Allyn, Miss Allyn’s father was also an ideal father. He also behaved like an ideal father. Any father in real life perhaps would not have allowed John to court his daughter the way the Colonel did. He was very cheerful and jovial. His presence made the old, dilapidated mansion look bright and alive. He was a good judge of human character. He patiently listened to John’s story and immediately judged his intentions. He was admirer of truthful and passionate men. He liked John and soon struck a friendship with him. He took great pleasure in telling stories to others. His laughter was quite hearty. On finding John a genuine and good human being, he allowed his daughter to marry John.
