◆ it helps in creating awareness among people about the exploitation of consumers on daily basis.

◆ they help the consumers in finding a quality product for themselves at cheap rates.
they sometimes tell them about the right to consumer education { if the people are unaware of the consumer rights } which involves:
• checking the manufacturing and expiry date.
• checking the maximum retail price
• checking whether there is a quality mark. 【 agmark:- agricultural products, hallmark:- gold jewellery, ISI mark :- electrical goods 】

◆ they play a major role in making people know what to do after they have been exploited by a manufacturer or seller.

◆ they tell them about the three-tier quasi-judicial machinery by COPRA
which involves:
=> cases at district level: below 20 lakhs
=> cases at state level: between 20 lakh and 1 crore
=> cases at national level: more than 1 crore.

◆ other than this, they support people in filing the cases in supreme court.
